Razing the Roof on Emergency First Aid

Razed Roof’s dedicated team, led by Annette Lidster, actively participated in an Emergency First Aid Course at HOHS this week. This invaluable session, spanning three hours, was specifically tailored for volunteers, equipping them with essential skills to tackle medical crises within the voluntary sector. Such proactive training initiatives underscore Razed Roof’s commitment to community welfare and preparedness in times of need.

An informative and fun session was delivered by our First Aid Trainer Garry Cole, in which attendees were shown how to deal with medical emergencies through theory, video clips and practical sessions, allowing the group to fully immerse themselves in the course.

Some comments from the Razed Roofers following the session were:

“What a fantastic day! Gary made the session enjoyable and made sure everyone in our group was engaged and understood how to safely administer first aid. A great way to make a life skill inclusive for all.”
– Olivia

“We were such a diverse group but our trainer Gary engaged us all and made information and practice accessible, building on whatever knowledge that we each had.”
– Mandy

“Everything was clearly explained; the practical activities were very useful to get the correct technique; the video clips were extremely helpful; and Gary made it fun. Most importantly, we learnt about updated practice: how advice and equipment has changed. Important information which everyone should know.”
– Annette

As a charity ourselves, we strive to give back to all those volunteers of Harlow and surrounding areas that selflessly give their time and efforts in helping others, by providing free courses in Emergency First Aid.

To qualify, you need to be volunteering within any sector in Harlow or surrounding area, even the smallest number of hours will allow you to take part.
