On October 18th, we recognize World Menopause Awareness Day, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness around menopause and the challenges faced by those going through it.
📝 What is Menopause?
Menopause marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years, usually between the ages of 45-55. It’s a natural biological process, but for many, the symptoms can be challenging. Hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood changes, and more can impact everyday life and work.
💡 Did You Know?
According to the International Menopause Society, over 1 billion women worldwide will be in menopause by 2025! It’s time we normalize the conversation and offer better support.
💼 Menopause in the Workplace
Many women are managing symptoms while at work, yet menopause remains a taboo topic in many workplaces. According to NHS Employers, here’s what employers can do to create a supportive environment:
🔹 Practical Tips for Workplaces:
• Flexible working hours to accommodate symptoms like fatigue or sleep disruption.
• Providing menopause-friendly facilities such as cool spaces or fans.
